ANIC Membership Application Form
According to the ANIC constitution and subject to the State Imams Council requirements and approval, a person who satisfies the criteria below at the time of application for membership is eligible to apply for Membership:
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY:
- 1. To create a platform for prominent Muslim women in the Muslim community to network and engage with the ANIC Imams and the Muslim community leaders to raise their concerns and suggest effective ideas that will contribute towards the development, growth, and prosperity of the Muslim community and generations to come.
- 2. Must be a citizen or permanent resident in Australia.
- 3. Must avoid any doubt or leading an infamous life style contrary to the principles of Shariah or being externally seemed not of an upright person or character.
- 4. Clear of any criminal record including financial criminal records.
- 5. Holds educational qualifications equivalent to bachelor’s degree or diploma (Not less than four years’ study) in Shariah, Usuluddeen, Usul al Fiqh, Hadith, Tafseer, Ulum al Tafseer or any other relevant areas of Islamic learning from a recognised Islamic University, College, Madrasa or Institute.
- 6. Must have the general recognition by the Imams and the community as an Imam.
- 7. Not known for clear innovations that's not disputed amongst the mainstream Muslim scholars.
- 8. Actively engaged in any field of Islamic Dawah in a Masjid, Islamic centre, and Islamic school in Australia.
- 9. Not to be involved in any similar and non-affiliated Imams or scholarly council, board in Australia.
- 10. Further documentations will be requested to support your application.
- 11. Turn around of an application form is approximately 90 days.
- 12. The Australian National Imams Council (ANIC) reserves the right to accept or decline membership applications.

PLEASE NOTE
An ANIC Associate Member is a member from the community who does not meet the full ANIC membership criteria, including not being an Australian Citizen or permanent resident, does not have an Islamic Studies Qualification or doesn’t meet one or more of the ANIC criteria as set in the ANIC constitution. They are community members who undertake some of the tasks of an Imam, such as delivering lessons, Khutab, chaplaincy services, involved in community and Dawah activities, etc.
An associate member can attend and participate in all ANIC State and Federal meetings, events and activities. They don’t have any voting rights, nor they can be nominated on the ANIC State or Federal executive committee. They can, however, be part of subcommittees.
